Visiting the capitol of the Second Bulgarian Kingdom from 12th to 14th century. Examining the historic hills – Tsarevets, Trapezitsa and St. Forest, situated above Yantra river. Walking tour in the centre of the city – the historic street “Gurko”, the Samovodska charshiya street, the Hadzhi Nikoli khan, the City-hall and the St. Konstantin and Helena’s church. The city, situated amphitheatrically above Yantra river is a symbol of the most glorious past of Bulgaria and national pride for all Bulgarians. It is distinguished for picturesque architecture, calm and pleasant atmosphere and it contains various monuments of revolutionaries who gave their lives for the Bulgarian Liberation of the Ottoman slavery. There are many museums and monuments in the city, connected with the creation and organization of the Third Bulgarian State. |
