Day 1: Sofia
Arriving at Sofia Airport, transfer to hotel “St. Sofia” 4* stars or similar and accommodation. City tour of the
Bulgarian capital and visiting the historical and cultural sights of the city.
Day 2: Sofia – Rila Monastery – Sandanski
Breakfast. Visiting the Rila Monastery located in the Rila Mountains
and lunch. After that departure to the town of Sandanski and
accommodation at the “Medite” hotel 4* stars or similar. A possibility
to have a walk in the town park “St. Vrach”. Free time. Welcome dinner
in a traditional Bulgarian tavern. Overnight.
Day 3: Sandanski – “Rupite” – Melnik – Sandanski
Breakfast. Departure to the “Rupite” region near Petrich. A promenade
around. Visiting the Rozhen Monastery. The next stop is the Old town
of Melnik – the smallest town of Bulgaria. Lunch. Visiting the Historical museum and the “Kordopulova
house”. Return to Sandanski after lunch. Time for SPA procedures. Dinner in the hotel or a traditional
Bulgarian dinner out of it. Overnight.
Day 4: Sandanski – Devin
Breakfast and departure to the town of Devin. On the way to Devin visiting the “Yagodinska” cave, the beauty
of Trigrad’s couloir, the “Devil’s throat” cave. Accommodation at the “SPA hotel Devin” 4*. Dinner in the
tavern with a barbecue and traditional Rhodope cuisine and authentic music. Overnight.
Day 5: Devin – Smolyan – Kurdzhali
Breakfast, departure to the town of Kurdzhali. On the way to Kurdzhali we stop for a walk in Smolyan’s old
quarter with houses of the Bulgarian national revival. Lunch. Visiting the oldest museum of the Middle
Rhodope Mountains in Smolyan. Departure to Kurdzhali and accommodation at the hotel “Perpericon” 3+*.
Free time. A possibility of organizing one-hour-long boat trip to a floating tavern – dinner with specialties of
freshwater fish. Dinner. vernight.
Day 6: Kurdzhali – Perpericon – Kurdzhali
Breakfast. Visiting the Historical museum in the town and the
medieval church “St. Joan Precursor”, going up to the ancient and
medieval town Perpericon – visiting the megalith cultural monument
“Cromleh”. Lunch at a village house. A promenade in the region with
the bizarre rock formations.
Day 7: Kurdzhali – Tatul – Bachkovo Monastery – Plovdiv
Breakfast. Visiting the sanctuary of Orpheus in Tatul village. Departure to the town of Plovdiv. Visiting the
Bachkovo Monastery on the way to Plovdiv. Lunch near Chepelarska River. Arriving in Plovdiv.
Accommodation at the “Sankt Peterburg” hotel 4* or similar. Afternoon promenade in the Old Town with its
museums, historical places, old houses, cobblestoned streets and chiefly with the Ancient theatre.
Dinner in the Old Town. Overnight.
Day 8: Plovdiv – Sofia
Breakfast. Departure to Sofia – airport.
